3 Reasons Why You Should Consider Airbrush Makeup (Especially in Florida)
Have you ever seen a foundation application in person that was so flawless you could barely tell whether or not the person is even wearing makeup? If so, it’s quite possible that this base was applied using airbrush makeup! Airbrushing gives the face a particularly smooth finish for a foundation application, but this is only one of the reasons why it’s so popular. Here are the Top 3 reasons you should consider airbrush makeup for your next makeup application... especially if your next event is here in Florida!
1. "It stays on ALL day".
The average wear time for airbrush makeup is 16-18 hours (yes, you read that correctly)! Opposed to traditional formulas of foundation (which wear anywhere from 6-12 hours, depending), most airbrush makeup is silicone based, which not only allows it to last longer but also makes it more waterproof (see "humidity proof") than normal makeup. This means that you're now free to hug, dance, and kiss to your hearts content at your next event without the fear of "leaving your face on someone" or "having your face melt off" at the party. You also
won’t need to think about having to reapply more during the day, because honestly, "ain't nobody got time for that". So, even if you’ve decided to get married. In the afternoon. On the beach. In July. In Florida. This application will absolutely stay put... even though you’re absolutely dying out there in our 114 degree (with the heat index) summer sun weather.
2. "It has a flawless finish".
Airbrush makeup is applied using air from a compressor, so it goes on in an evenly blended layering effect that is free of lines, giving the skin a high quality finish and hides skin surface inconsistencies and blemishes well. This means that you should have zero fear of having those super awkward foundation lines show up (I see you, high school girls). This is also another reason why airbrush foundation is ideal for the camera flash… and also helps keep your photographer out of re-touching hell, which they’ll thank you for later.
3. “It looks/feels natural”
Don’t usually wear much makeup? Want more coverage, but less makeup? Don’t want to feel like you’re wearing a TON of makeup? Then airbrushing is definitely an option for you. Due to the spray application process, less actual makeup is needed (we're talking literally 4-5 drops!) as it spreads easily over the face without the use of piles upon piles, layer after layer of makeup. Can you add layers for more coverage? Absolutely. Airbrushing can be applied very finely, which makes it easier to layer, but also makes it look extremely natural too. It dries very quickly, so you can add more to achieve the coverage that you want. A little really does go a long way.
I offer and use both traditional and airbrush foundation in my makeup applications. Not gonna lie though, I LOVE using airbrush foundation, especially when “summer” here in Florida is like 9 months out of the year. It definitely aids me in giving my clients more options and generally leads to better makeup applications for any outdoor event you may be attending. I do, however, still prefer to apply brow / eye / lip color by hand with brushes because that offers me more control over my application and an easier overall job of color blending.
